For the first time in its storied history, The Frick Collection is offering visitors and members a place to dine. On June 6, the museum unveiled Westmoreland, an elegant café nestled on the second floor of its newly renovated Fifth Avenue home.

Part of the Frick’s ambitious revitalization project, Westmoreland represents a new chapter in enhancing the museum experience. The café is located within the expansion designed by Selldorf Architects and features interior design by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio (BOSS). Visitors will also be treated to a bespoke mural by contemporary artist Darren Waterston, adding a unique touch that bridges art, architecture, and ambiance.

The café’s name, Westmoreland, pays homage to the Frick family’s private Pullman train car used beginning in 1911 to travel between their homes in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and beyond. That same spirit of refined travel and comfort now informs the design and experience of the café.

Offering approximately 50 seats, Westmoreland presents an all-day, table-service menu developed by Union Square Events (USE). The curated menu aims to reflect the sophistication of the museum’s collection, combining classic elegance with modern tastes. It will be open during regular museum hours, and same-day reservations are available onsite. Access is available exclusively to museum ticket holders and members.

The café was made possible through the generous support of the Margot and Jerry Bogert Family.

“As we continue to celebrate the Frick’s grand reopening, we are thrilled to debut the museum’s first-ever café,” said Axel Rüger, the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director of The Frick Collection. “The new amenity helps bring our institution into the twenty-first century, and it will provide our visitors and members with a respite to enjoy conversation about the collection over refined food and beverages. Westmoreland’s interior by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio resonates with the elegance of Selldorf Architects’ expansion, amplifying the museum’s atmosphere of timeless beauty and extending the Frick experience beyond our galleries.”

With Westmoreland, The Frick Collection adds yet another layer to its mission of cultural enrichment, offering guests an inviting new space to reflect, recharge, and connect—one beautifully plated dish at a time.
