The Prudential Center in Newark came alive recently as Audacy hosted its 12th annual We Can Survive concert, presented by VEG, bringing together music, community, and a life-saving mission. The star-studded evening featured electrifying performances from Ed Sheeran, Goo Goo Dolls, Alex Warren, and Shaboozey, creating a night of unforgettable music and meaningful conversation.

We Can Survive is more than just a concert; it’s a platform for awareness and action. A portion of the proceeds from the event went to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), supporting its critical work in education, loss support, advocacy, and community-based programs across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The AFSP’s flagship initiative, Talk Saves Lives, was highlighted during the evening, offering attendees guidance on recognizing warning signs, understanding protective factors, and learning how to have real conversations that can connect people to help.

“This event is about community, music, and hope,” said a representative from Audacy. “We’re proud to shine a spotlight on the message that ‘the power of talk can save lives’ through our I’m Listening initiative. Every conversation matters, and every connection can make a difference.”

The red carpet saw a mix of excitement and support as artists and attendees embraced the mission of the night, while inside the Prudential Center, performances ranged from Sheeran’s heartfelt ballads to the Goo Goo Dolls’ iconic anthems, punctuated by rising stars Alex Warren and Shaboozey bringing their unique energy to the stage. Each act reinforced the evening’s central theme: hope, healing, and human connection.

Beyond the music, the event emphasized the importance of building a caring community. AFSP fosters an environment where individuals can walk together, learn together, and encourage each other through the often-challenging journey of mental health recovery. By pairing entertainment with education, We Can Survive helps destigmatize conversations about mental health and inspires attendees to take action in their own communities.
