The Nevis Tourism Authority took its signature fruit beyond the Caribbean, bringing a taste of the island’s famed mango season to South Florida as it promotes this summer’s Nevis Mango Festival.
The tourism agency recently showcased Nevis at Food, Wine & Fete 2026, a Caribbean-inspired culinary event held at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami. The activation served as a preview of the Nevis Mango Festival, which happened July 2-5, and highlighted the island’s reputation as the “Mango Capital of the Caribbean.”
More than 1,500 attendees, including members of the Caribbean diaspora, food enthusiasts and travel lovers, attended the all-inclusive beachside event.
One of the biggest attractions was a branded Nevis mango popsicle cart, where guests lined up to sample frozen mango treats inspired by the island’s annual harvest. The activation was designed to introduce visitors to Nevis’ agricultural heritage while generating interest in the upcoming festival.
Nevis is home to more than 44 varieties of mangoes, making the fruit a central part of the island’s culinary identity. Each year, the Nevis Mango Festival celebrates that distinction with chef-led dinners, cooking demonstrations, tastings, cultural events and mango-inspired dishes that attract visitors from around the world.
Festival promotion extended beyond food. During the event’s grand finale, a drone light show illuminated the Miami skyline with the Nevis Mango Festival logo and the Nevis flag, giving the destination high-profile visibility before the South Florida audience.
Visitors also had an opportunity to enter a giveaway for a summer vacation to Nevis, including accommodations at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis.
Pheon Jones, director of sales and marketing for the Nevis Tourism Authority, represented the destination throughout the event, meeting with media, travel professionals and attendees while promoting the island’s growing culinary tourism offerings.
Jones said Miami remains an important market because of its strong Caribbean community, direct travel connections and growing interest in authentic food and cultural experiences. He added that Food, Wine & Fete provided an ideal opportunity to introduce potential visitors to Nevis while building excitement for the Mango Festival.
The Miami activation is part of a broader marketing strategy aimed at expanding Nevis’ visibility among affluent Caribbean diaspora travelers and culinary-focused visitors seeking immersive island experiences.
Located in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, the 36-square-mile island is known for its volcanic landscapes, beaches and slower-paced atmosphere. In addition to its natural beauty, Nevis is recognized as the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton and continues to position itself as a destination where history, culture and cuisine come together.
