Sweet and spicy flavors are getting a new addition to the breakfast table with the launch of Mango Habanero Jam from GOOD GOOD, a better-for-you brand known for its no-added-sugar jams and spreads.
Retailing for $11.99, Mango Habanero Jam is the brand’s first genuinely spicy jam and combines real mango with Texas-grown habanero peppers. The ingredients are led by mango and habanero, giving the spread a combination of tropical sweetness and bold heat without relying on added sugar.
The new flavor is part of GOOD GOOD’s broader effort to modernize the traditional jam category and encourage consumers to think beyond toast and sandwiches when reaching for a fruit spread.
Founder and CEO Gardar Stefansson said developing a spicy jam without added sugar required the company to expand its ingredient sourcing, formulation and production capabilities. That process included sourcing habanero peppers grown in Poteet, Texas, to create the desired level of heat while maintaining the brand’s no-added-sugar approach.
Mango Habanero Jam reflects the growing popularity of sweet-and-spicy flavor combinations, often referred to as “swicy.” The trend has found its way into everything from sauces and snacks to beverages and desserts, and GOOD GOOD is bringing the flavor profile to a category traditionally dominated by fruit-forward and sweeter spreads.
The versatility of the jam is also part of its appeal. While it can be used on toast, biscuits or other breakfast favorites, the sweet-and-spicy combination can also lend itself to savory applications, appetizers, sandwiches, cheese boards and recipes that call for a combination of fruit and heat.
GOOD GOOD’s focus on no-added-sugar products gives the new spread a point of difference in a market where traditional jams and pepper jellies can contain significant amounts of added sugar. The company is positioning Mango Habanero as an option for consumers interested in experimenting with more adventurous flavors while maintaining the brand’s approach to reduced-sugar spreads.
Mango Habanero Jam is currently available through GOOD GOOD’s website and is scheduled to enter grocery stores and Amazon nationwide this fall. Additional retail launch dates are expected to be announced.
With mango providing the fruit-forward foundation and habanero delivering a distinctive kick, the new spread gives consumers another way to incorporate sweet-and-spicy flavors into everyday meals.
