Black Husband-and-Wife Team Make History With World’s First Wine-Infused Gourmet Jam

A Dallas-based couple is turning a bold kitchen experiment into a fast-growing gourmet brand, carving out a new category in the food industry with innovation rooted in culture, flavor, and family.

Jam Vino, founded by Chef Lorious Rogers and her husband, Shane Rogers, is billed as the world’s first line of wine-infused gourmet jam. What began as a personal recipe has evolved into a nationally recognized product, gaining attention from major media platforms and high-profile events.

“We’re excited to be able to share our family’s recipe with the world, and it means so much to us how well our jam has been received,” said Chef Lorious, founder and CEO. “From the Oscars to the Emmys to QVC, we’re happy to see families all over the country enjoying it. We’re very grateful.”

Chef Lorious’s journey into the culinary world was anything but traditional. While working as an accountant, she began developing her own recipes, eventually creating her signature “Calibama Cooking” style—a blend of Southern Alabama roots and Northern California influence. She built an audience through YouTube, local television appearances, and her cookbook, Calibama Cooking: Classic & Contemporary Comfort Food.

The breakthrough moment came during a cooking demonstration when she paired her homemade wine-infused jam with a grilled cheese sandwich.

“People kept coming up to me asking what was in the grilled cheese sandwich,” she recalled. “They said, ‘I’ve never tasted anything like this!’ That’s when I knew we had something truly special.”

That moment sparked the launch of Jam Vino, introducing a new approach to gourmet spreads. Made with 100% real fruit and just five all-natural ingredients, the jams are vegan-friendly and gluten-free. The alcohol content cooks down, making the product suitable for a wide range of consumers. Current flavors include Strueberry Blanc, Blackberry Merlot, and Raspberry Moscato.

Since its debut, Jam Vino has gained national exposure, appearing on shows like The View and GMA3, and being featured in celebrity gift lounges at major events including the Oscars and Emmys.

Beyond its commercial success, the brand represents a broader story of Black entrepreneurship and ownership in the food industry. As a family-led business, Jam Vino reflects a commitment to innovation while building something designed to last for future generations.

With growing demand and continued expansion, the Rogerses are positioning Jam Vino as more than a product—it’s a brand rooted in heritage, creativity, and the idea that everyday moments can be elevated into something special.
